Privacy on Social Media -
Online i am part of many social media platforms, my main four including Instagram, Tumblr, Facebook, and Twitter. On all these sites you can control how much privacy you have to an certain extent. Anywhere from everyone in the world being able to see everything you do on that specific platform to even you being the only one seeing what you post or share on these sites. The most secure i feel is Facebook, because you can literally make everything to where you control exactly who sees it and even to the extent where no one can even search your name to add you, you must search their name to add them if you wish to. Although Instagram is a less interactive platform than Facebook, once you post a picture their is no filter to who you specifically want to see it, and you must delete it to stop people from seeing a picture while on Facebook you can simply just edit the privacy on that post to where only the poster (you) can view it. Tumblr on the other hand is usually very open where once you post it everyone can see it, although there is ways to make a privated tumblr where only those with a password can access that page, it isnt very private unless you keep wanting to change the password every so often, lets face it little to no one is trustworthy anymore so i feel this is one of the more open forms of social media becuase it is interactive, you post things you like but there is absolutely no filter to who can and cannot view these post. Twitter is somewhat like facebook on privacy settings with a little bit more leeway for less privacy. On all my social media platforms i try to keep it as private as possible, facebook only certain people can view certain things, no one can search me and only freinds can contact me, keeping my post mostly proffessional as well so that if anything dose happen i have no worries on who may see what. On tumblr its pretty open so i dont use my picture or real name, i use a alias so no one would know who i am or what exactly I as a person would post. I feel no real security using these platforms, why? at the end of the day all these platforms on in the "clouds" anything is accessible to those who may have the resources to gain access ( money or hackers) the only way to truly be secure is to abstain from using any of these platforms or if you do do not post anything you wouldnt want to see posted if you were a business owner and was hiring somebody.

Progress Report 1
We will be researching mostly about how social media affects an individual in the workplace. We will provide different examples of how social media has gotten individuals in trouble with their boss. We will also look at the pros that social media can provide for an individual such as putting themselves out there so companies and businesses can notice them. As well as the cons to see how social media has many disadvantages and how you have to basically filter what you put on your social media.
In our group we will split up the research and the Prezi so that everyone will research and design a slide about what each group members found about the topic at hand. Jesus Ortuno will be in charge of researching the effects that social media bring onto the workplace as well as provide an example. Miguel Salvo will also do some research especially on the regulations that are put on employees by their workplace. Saidev Rao will focus on the design of the presentation and to make sure everything is in order. Thanh Tran will focus on the pros and cons in social media and the workplace. He will also make sure that the presentation has no technical or grammar errors. At the end we will all split up the work to make sure everyone did an equal share, and to make sure everybody knows what each slide is about.
The sources that we are looking at using are mostly different websites on the internet. One example is, http://www.businessinsider.com/facebook-fired-2011-5?op=1, this site shows some perfect examples of what the business is like and how it can all change because of the social media. Furthermore, we will use Google.com to research the percentage of employers that actually go through your social media prior to hiring you. We will also go deeper into looking at the statistics of how many people have actually gotten in trouble due to their social media profile.

The Life of the Chinese Gold Farmer
Chinese gold farming, a mix between working and having fun. Although they have fun and enjoy their jobs of playing video games for money I found this a very sad lifestyle from my point of view. Harsh living conditions having to share a room with multiple people. Very little pay at about $0.30 per hour with only 3 days off each month. Although food and shelter is provided by the boss of these workshops, this minuscule amount of pay is only getting them by.
In these games players play for an estimate of 10 hours per day, with one main objective. Kill as many monsters in game to collect gold which can then be sold. These gold are being sold to Americans and Europeans through eBay or other online forums where the boss of these gaming workshop sells them to an online retailer for about $3.00 for every 100 gold. After recieving the gold the online retailer sells these golds for almost 7 times that amount at $20.00 for every 100. Making this a multi-million dollar industry consisting of only 100,000 workers.

These Chinese "gold farmers" hate the name of "gold farmers" the name being discriminative to them. And in game after hours and hours of playing to acquire gold online people who know their jobs will purposefully kill them making their job harder then it already is.
In all I give respect and props to these farmers they do what they enjoy for a living and although it's a hard way of earning money in total they make due with what they have.
